Engineered to Order Systems

In today's economic climate of deregulation, especially within municipalities and the utility industry, companies must do what they can to remain competitive in their marketplaces.  Eliminating personnel within departments - or eliminating departments altogether - are two of the most common ways to reduce expenses.  However, with fewer in-house personnel, organizations are finding it increasingly more difficult to undertake efficient and cost-effective design, engineering, purchasing, scheduling, and coordination functions when it comes to replacing or increasing their fleet of crew trucks for underground applications.

This is where Boss Industries -with its innovative E.T.O. System™ - excels.  Working through a Boss distributor, users have the opportunity to purchase crew trucks custom-engineered and manufactured to their specific industries and applications.  the Boss team functions as an extension of the users' personnel to design and deliver vehicles with the power and performance to get the job done!

Consider the advantages of this innovative program, and you'll quickly discover why Boss users call the E.T.O. System an exciting opportunity to sustain the competitive edge in their marketplace.

The Strategy Behind the System

More than a service, the E.T.O. System is really a "process" that enables the user to get a single, integrated system that has been customized with all the necessary equipment to handle many applications.  This process starts with a Boss distributor.  Initial meetings between a Boss distributor and the end user enable the opportunity to review existing crew trucks and their applications.  It is here where the Boss team gains a more thorough understanding of the client's industry and the tasks and demands encountered on a day-to-day basis.  After this meeting, the Boss team of engineers and support staff gathers necessary data and resources, creates preliminary engineering specifications and drawings for user review, provides a quotation, and presents the user with the findings and recommendations.  Upon receipt of the user's purchase order, the vehicle is built to these exacting specifications and delivered to the user.

One Source, One Purchase Order, One Invoice

Before Boss introduced the E.T.O. System, users who wanted a custom-engineered vehicle may have dealt with up to five or more vendors to equip the chassis with the specified components; five vendors means five purchase orders, five invoices, and five places to transport your chassis.  With using Boss as your single source for all components, you've got one source, which reduces overall initial cost, improves manpower utilization, and reduces maintenance costs, in addition to dealing with only one purchase order.  And, because your chassis goes to one location for everything, a process that could have taken upwards of eight months is completed in as few as 10-12 weeks from the time we receive your purchase order.  You will receive a single, final invoice at the same time your custom crew truck is delivered to your doorstep.

Boss can integrate and engineer a comprehensive array of components onto your custom crew truck, including:
